The First Frame
"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are" ~Anais Nin
Welcome to Framed Perspectives. I chose the name framedperspective.space for this blog because it reflects a personal truth I've come to realize: Our external circumstances don't always dictate our peace, but the lenses we choose to view them through absolutely do.
Growing up writing was always a therapeutic outlet for me. It was a visceral way to help make sense of my world around me. I felt less alone and was able to be entirely myself in those pages.
That abruptly ended when the words on those pages were used against me in a negative way. Those words were a scream for help during desperate times, but instead were used as a tool to create shame. Since that day, I have always had a hard time writing and allowing someone to read my words.
t's been more than 21 years since that day, and I am finally getting back into my writing. This space helps me cultivate my writing abilities and explore ideas with greater depth. But more than that, I want to build an intentional sandbox for therapeutic expression. Life moves incredibly fast, and without a dedicated place to pause, process, and structure our thoughts, it's easy to let our experiences manage us rather than the other way around.
This space is public because I want it to be a collaborative sanctuary; a place for people to come to, share opinions, and offer their own thoughts. By stepping out from behind the curtain under a pen name, I am carving out a protected boundary where the ideas can take center stage, and where we can rewrite our narratives together.
Thank you for stepping into this framework with me.
